..Essential eBay Links..

We firmly believe that every eBay customer should know all the options available to them for using the site. The site is unfortunately poorly laid out, and many of the links people need are very hard to find. Please feel free to bookmark this list for future reference. These are the British site links, but they should still work everywhere else. If not, try changing ".co.uk" to ".com" or whatever your local extension is. Scroll down past the links for a few helpful tips.

Live Help - Chat With an eBay Employee. UK LiveHelp is currently not working, this is US LiveHelp. There is no way to contact eBay by phone if you are not a very high level Power Seller.

Live Help - Especially for Hijacked Accounts.

Contact eBay by email, report a listing violation or problems with eBay members.

EBay Help & Discussion boards. Click here for the American boards.

Search by Bidder (to check buying/bidding activity and history).

EBay's purchase protection program.

Retract a bid (only under certain circumstances).

Cancel bids on your listings.

View & Update your blocked bidders list.

Set your buyer requirements (block buyers from countries to which you don't ship, block bidders with less than a 0 feedback rating, ect).

Pre-Approve bidders. Click the link at the bottom of that page to make some of your auctions pre-approved bidders only (this is good if you're setting up a private sale through eBay).

End your listing early.

Pull your trading partner's contact details (Phone Number, ect).

View Dispute Console for item not received/not as described or unpaid item disputes.

File a Paypal complaint and perform a chargeback for items not received or not as described.

Report an item not received or not as described (only when you haven't used Paypal or Paypal were unable to recover your funds).

Report an item as unpaid.

Respond to feedback you have received.

Follow-up to feedback you have left for others.

Request mutual feedback removal. The feedback rating will be removed, but the comments will remain.

The Neg/Neutral Tool: Shows user's negatives and neutrals, both given and received, leaving out the positives that you have to sort through. There is also a Firefox extension.

The Mutual Feedback Tool: Shows all feedback two users have left for one another.

Fat Fingers: Type in a keyword, it searches eBay listings for all possible misspellings of that word, quite useful for a hidden bargain.

Photobucket: Host your eBay photos for free here, rather than using eBay's poor photo service. This way, you can have more than one photo in your listing without paying for it. Just copy and paste the code in the second box under your picture and put it in the listing.

..Essential eBay Tips..

I've put these together based on common questions I've seen on the eBay question and answer boards.

-Any item sent standard 1st or 2nd class delivery through UK Royal Mail is insured up to £32. No matter what the seller says, they are responsible for refunding your money if your item is lost in the post (and the seller should subsequently claim against that insurance for their own refund). Recorded Delivery gives you NO extra insurance; it just makes the parcel trackable.

-Feedback that contains personal details (phone numbers, addresses, etc.) or cursing can be removed by eBay. This includes fake cursing (like words obscured like th*s). Simply use the email link above to report the feedback left for you and they will erase the comment (though the rating will stay).

-If you aren't sure an email you have received is a spoof, simply forward it to spoof@ebay.com and they will reply shortly to tell you whether or not it was sent by eBay.

-If you have filled in any details in response to what you suspect may be a spoof email, change your password immediately. If you suspect your account may already have been compromised, visit the Live Help for hijacked accounts link above.
